Anyway, nope, never played Gradius - I based this one on something between Xenon II and R-Type, my 2 favourite ever shooters!

man tis is grrrrrr8!i have 2 weapons!1 at the front one at the back....the back weapon is the deadly box!which u collect the stones!just move ur ship be hind the enemy and crash rite into them with the box!

Aw, that's game's just great. I love how your leftover credits determine your prize, pressing you to take the low road instead of buying the best weapons and ships.
One cool thing would be to convert the leftover credits into massive points (like maybe 20 points a credit) and to save the hi-scores to a cookie.
Good to see how the peaceful planet of Science isn't afraid to kill hundreds of aliens for a few rocks. I guess that deserves a seven in humour for the irony ;)
