Reviews for "Mega Man X2 - Flame Stag Stage"

Mix is treble-y...

...and it sounds very thin on my Sennheisers (which means it'll sound thinner on other speakers).

Try adding bass to the final mix's EQ. If that doesn't work (which, I guess, will be the case), tear it apart, and boost your bass guitar (it's hiding).

Other than that, it's a great cover! ^_^

DarKsidE555 responds:

WTF!? D:

All others audio artists I showed it so far say it's much deeper than before!? >:/

Fucking mastering shit. D:<

Ah the hell with it! lolz. Thanks for checking man!

Hmm....

S'alright I suppose and seeing as i really don't like metal music but I think I might download this. Good work.

Hammerypart says: five'd! Good metal music! Cya!

DarKsidE555 responds:

Alright! Fair enough! Thanks for the five man! :D

Cya around!

Dude.

First off, I gotta dock a point for the overuse of sound effects. The small ones at the beginning and end were nice touches, but the mass of noises from around 1:40 to 2:03 really distract from an otherwise excellent remix. That said: Somehow, you have taken the best track from the X series and made it even more awesome. I commend you, good sir. Rock on. \m/

DarKsidE555 responds:

Oh why thank you very much! :)

No problems with the point drop, doesn't bug me at all and to explain the mass of sfx from the part you mentioned. I wanted to create a feeling of actually playing the stage with this remix. Should be a little "in-game-take" if you know what I mean. ;)

Anyways, glad you enjoyed it! :D

Those cymbals...

...needed to be turned down and the snare brought up, I feel. Barring that, this remix is rip-smashing, head-banging, blood-thirsty fucking METAL if I ever heard it.

DarKsidE555, since about 2008, I have kept this remix of Flame Stag's stage on my Zune and jammed out to it on a regular basis. I dare say this is my second favorite remix of a Super Nintendo game from my childhood. It does help however, that Flame Stag's stage was one of my favorite tunes from MMX2.

My particular favorite part of the composition of this remix is the Tempo you chose and the arrangement of drumming. It was real thrash sounding, along with the heaviness that makes thrash come together and sound really heavy. The addition of the Game sound effects was a seamless and also sounded very powerful.

Where I like the drumming, I feel you should make your snare sound a little softer and use more bass drum sound to make it sound heavier.

I look foreward to more remixes like this one, keep it going DarKsidE555! \ m /

DarKsidE555 responds:

Hard to believe that this remix is nearly 6 fucking years old...wow. It's been awhile. Well, thanks a lot for the praise.

It has been very quiet around myself for a few years. Haven't done much since 2012. I'm currently collecting new equipment and hopefully make a "comeback" or whatever in the near future.

It's cool to know that people even now still appreciate what I've had done a few years back so thanks again for that!

Kind regards,

Matt
