I can see the resemblance.
This sounds like something you would hear in a game actually.
The opening reminds me of the music heard around the Manor in Draynor in Runescape, but at 00:39 the gears switch and resemble Pokemon or some heroic theme from some other game. The first few notes from the 00:39 mark remind me of Freespace, but that doesn't last long.
Man, there are half a dozen remanders of old games wrapped up in this one song! o-O

If it didn't sound like a midi it would be a lot better. What do you use for producing music?

I have to use midi, I have nothing else. I use Sibelius 1.4, so this is the best I can do with it. I don't believe that all good music has to be non-midi.
