First off, I love the mixed art / animation styles. I especially loved the opening scene with the 3-D wireframe city with glow effect as the background with the 2+D blob colored characters in the front. I have not seen this combination before and find it truly unique. I would love to see more done this way. Also liked the mixed styles used in the middle. 4-stars for this alone.

That being said... there were lots of unnecessary pauses which extended the runtime without purpose. This probably could be 8 minutes long instead of 12, or more content added keeping it at 12 minutes. Note: a couple of pauses kind of showed off the 3-D animated environment and maybe weren't unnecessary, but adding some background music to those scenes could help.

In fact, most of this episode could have benefited from more background music as well as more sound effects. The opening scene, in particular, could have used a nice sound effect for the laser blast (I know, a sound effect for a laser blast is not necessarily realistic, but this is animation, not live action, so I think it would be appropriate). The dialog was also a little stilted... again, removing some pauses would help, and softening the audio transitions would also help.

But, again, the art / animation style is beautiful. I love it and want to see more.
