the appeal is it feeds well into social media algorithms, that's all. don't let the corporate pressure control ya! good animation though.
here's my awkward attempt at making a short-styled animation. i'm still trying to understand the appeal of creating 9:16 / short form videos, but i think i did pretty okay.
had a few gifs ive created so i decided to be cool to put all of them together into one piece, so here's a loop of a random fox vibin out!
don't know if i'll make more of these, but it was fun to create nonetheless. :]

It was an alright song. In this instance I would recommend NOT starting up so close to the camera. It definitely made me focus on the character dancing for a second but it seems awkward to look at as it is an eyesore. In fact I REALLY don't think you even needed to zoom out considering this is a 20 second loop. The background effects with the circles popping out and the background reflection of the fox dancing is more than enough to catch the viewer's attention.
EDIT: The background stood out because I was overstimulated by the visual of the character dancing so close to my face. Since I was overstimulated by the fox my eyes compensated by focusing on something with less stimulation-that being the background. I could definitely tell this is a test because that's what most loop animations are.
But to detail my point it's like if I were to see a performance but someone puts a hand into my face (the hand being the model of the fox). Naturally I would want to look away at the thing obscuring my vision.
hey there, thank you so much for the critique!
i can definitely see where you're coming from, i was comptemplating whether or not the zoom was good choice. especially considering the fact that it doesnt help that i've used a completely different software to make these animations. (via, combining artwork into a GIF editor) so there was bound to be some syncing issues. i'm kind of surprised the background caught your attention since i felt like i was very minimal on visuals.
i've been experimenting to see if my artwork could translate well into animation, especially in a 9:16 format. but im very limited with my resources so i'm resorting to unorthodox methods of creating videos.
honestly, if i do make more of these i am going to put just a little more thought into it since i will admit, i was mostly just testing things out so i wasn't trying to make anything too detailed or anything crazy. i will definitely take notes, so thanks again!
EDIT: probably should give some sort sensory warning the next time
