This project was made specifically to go back to claymation. Specifically I wanted to do a claymation with texturing (I used a piece of foam from a hard drive box to create the hexagons in the lizard man's tale). My hot take on animation with dialogue is that I generally am not a game of lipsync. Older Zagreb style animation, even with dialogue, didn't always have lipsync and lipsync wasn't always assumed in animation. I am a huge fan of lipsync focused jokes; when people take the time to make the lipsync funny with ridiculous mouth shapes and weird inbetweens. Outside of that style, I prefer the anime convention of just getting the lipsync on screen and focusing on the poses to sell the comedy. I also developed a style of greenscreening stopmotion that my fellow pro-animators think is an error so I'll clarify: the black lines around the characters are purposeful to evoke cel shading. I made a film about hamsters in stop motion that other animators thought I was greenscreening badly cus I added back in a neon glow affect after greenscreening. Since then I have made that effect more subtle in my work. I also love how digital this background is in contrast to the claymation. This was an early photoshop style trend that has faded and I wanted to bring it back with this work. Anyway it's a film about pee pee.
Music licensed by storyblocks and cannot be used by anyone but me. I did the voice. There is also a garage band loop used I believe.
