This is my animation reel. Lots of things of different budgets and scope. I have a really varied reel because I generally don't go for conventional animation jobs (graphics) so I crafted this reel to show the depth of technique and style. I mostly get dismissed as a "stylized animator" which is fair if like you want to make a pharma ad so I get it. I like this current reel but I think reels are sort of wrong for people who make work like mine. A. I do stylistic work right? But I am not what film critics would call a "video artist"; which is to say my style has a context versus a video artist that purely cranks out style for style sake. A project calls for that style and it works when you watch my work, so in response I try to make reels that are themselves a cool short piece of weirdness. The majority of my work is short form so it is usually easier (and more lucrative business wise, as in I get hired more) to send someone 2 or 3 short films that fit to the pitch or job.

It's also difficult with things like my feature length Tarantula documentary where I spend and hour building an animation style so it justifies itself. Is someone gonna watch the full doc and get it? Not always because that's what any audience member is gonna experience. They may like it, they may not. I write all this because I am a unique case. If you are an animator or an aspiring one most people would advise against a reel like this but it's cool.
