This is the first episode in my series called "Lilin," which is 10 episodes strong on YouTube. Over the course of the month, I'll be uploading the rest of the episodes here so that Newgrounds viewers can get in on the drama.
This premiere episode is a little rough when it comes to its presentation (this was before we started using 3D animation) so this is presented in a familiar Visual Novel style, but it sets up the world of "Lilin," the strange and twisted tale about a woman who isn't as she appears to be.
What's interesting is that this isn't the first appearance of Lillie, our leading lady. Back in February 2021, when I was testing out the character studio program where the 3D models were made, I discovered I could take screenshots and use them for Visual Novel sprites. So my friend and Lillie's actress, Maganda Marie, worked with me to create a sort of "tech demo"/teaser about a girl who had some pretty alarming secrets hidden behind her sweet smile. Fast forward to February 2022, we decided to expand upon that teaser and we ended up crafting a whole show. The rest is history as they say.
It's been a wonderful experience working on this project and I'm very pleased to be sharing it here for the first time. I hope you enjoy this first episode, rough edges and all, and I hope you'll be interested in the rest of the series.
