FLASHING LIGHTS WARNING

entry to the three star jam. My strategy was to make something that is actually kinda fun but is so mechanically obtuse and visually obnoxious that most people won't bother to figure out what's going on. But it is a *real* game that you can *actually* play if you figure it out!

Right now there's a bug where the "upcoming phases" shows an extra neutral phase at the beginning. Maybe I'll fix it later.

(Update: I fixed it but I haven't reuploaded the source code yet. For a fun bonus puzzle, go fix it yourself!)

It was pretty fun to crack open an old version of flash and do AS2 stuff again - I was surprised how quickly it all came back to me. I'm a lot better at programming than I was when I made all those other games ten years ago, but because I was working in flash again (and because I had a hot deadline) I made this game pretty much the same way I made all my old games - barely organized, important code hiding inside of symbols inside of symbols, using the animation timeline to do stuff you're "supposed to" use code for cause it's faster to do it the stupid way, etc etc etc. It was a lot of fun! I think flash just enables some really bizarre but fast methods for slapping together a game. (The source file is MX 2004, if you want to see for yourself!)

Oh yeah, and sick idea for a jam! I hope they do more.
