How am I supposed to get past the 1st bonus? Whatever I do my guys just go to the right and after they pass through the portal the level restarts.

Move with left and right keys. Press up to jump. Sweets are bad for your health. Don't touch the bug. Instead, you can squash it. You will need a gun to kill sweets and bugs.
