Welcome to Anubian, planet inhabited by agile predators. Something evil approaches and your mission is to stop it. You control agent Ellen who was sent to the place of discovery of massive amount of burnt bodies. Is it the legend or Nih is real? That is your task to find out. But how? By making your way thru large amount of enemies, spikes, explosive missiles and so on.
Controls:
X - shoot
Z - jump
Arrows - move/aim
To reload your gun hold X and arrow down.
Game was developed using Crafty. It is small JavaScript framework with basic stuff handling - 2D graphics, sound, input, "entity" based logic. I thought it was perfect to make simple 2D game. And I was right I guess.

I tried making another game about it, but it was just bad.
I liked it a lot! Got to stage 2, the first boss last phase was brutal! I liked how HP works in this game and I was surprised by the varied assets!

Thanks a lot. Theres difficulty spike at stage 4, while stage 5 is entirely tough. Final stage boss is meant to be annoying, i mean, VERY annoying, but beatable. Believe me game is still way easier than, let's say, Ninja Gaiden for NES.
Has the potential to be a fun and playable game but there are certainly some issues to be addressed.
- The jump height of the character is really beyond normal, but if that is your intent I recommend reducing the gravity to slow down it's fall as the reaction time to move when falling is really tight and caused me numerous deaths in the first few levels.
- Pressing down + x does not reload the gun for me so I could not move past the slime boss. Maybe that is due to running in Chrome, I don't know.
- The game graphics could be greatly improved.
- As another commenter said, there is a problem with starting the game, the fix you give works temporarily but it should be properly fixed.
- I do like that the hit points are reduced in a gradual way rather than instant death for the character when touching an enemy.
- Holding onto the wall and not automatically sliding is a plus.
One other thing, the author of this game is acting irritated at the commenter in their responses. Be kind and grateful to your commenters. They don't need to provide comments and do it as a courtesy to you to help you in making your games better.
- Jump height and speed is intended as the character attribute; think of being superhero. I cannot reduce gravity because character would jump further, and jumping too far makes no sense. Especially in later levels where there are maps where you open path.
- You must hold, not press down + x to reload.
- Game graphics are copying 8 bit era of games.
- i would like to fix this one but i don't know how. Not yet.
- some enemies later in the game actually oneshot. But they are usually either boss body parts or weak non moving traps. Some sfuff actually should oneshot to make sense.

There's defiantly a game here, but there's some kinks in it.
what do you mean by kinks? Game is solid and you can finish it within 20 minutes. Only thing i want to improve are visuals...
EDIT: u know, i might change it after all, stage 2 boss is pissing me off too much. Also i will look further what to improve.
EDIT2: okay, i nerfed stage 2 boss, also added some visuals like grass, corpses and hooks. I played this game again to the very end, did not find any problems with it. Maybe could you suggest what to improve?
