Hey Guys! Hersan Coello here. This is my first video game ever! I hope you guys like it. Please leave a comment telling me what you like and dislike about the game. all critics are welcome. Brutal honesty will help me grow as a dev. The music of the game is not my own (the music in it is royalty free other than the menu song). the menu song belongs to "The Pet Collective" at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4QAnCFd4iw credits to others and instructions are in the game. It's a little blurry going to HTML5 but I don't know how to fix that. Enjoy!

A very fun game with great artwork and music!

PS. Sorry about messing up the vote count!

The game is actually funny and quite relaxing. The music is good. I think the main menu's first track would be better off as an instrumental version of the song, it could fit nicely.
"Pressing ESC to close" doesn't actually work here and only renders the game unresponsive.
It's pretty hard to get used to the physics also.
Don't really get what is has to do with snails. Assume it's the character floating on the water lily who doesn't look like a snail to me, but I haven't seen too many of them in my life either.

HersanDonCoello responds:

Thank you for your feedback! I was unaware the Esc to close was ineffective here. I'll keep that in mind for future games.

Honestly quite fun. Love the music, sound effects are nice too. It's a bit tricky, but that's okay.
To be fair to you, I am not very good at games, so my review might not be great.
For refrence, my high score is 400.

This looks like an arcade-style shooter. I'd argue it would be better to have the game be infinite, generating endless enemies and rocks. Or if you wanted to go for a level-based design, it would be neat to have a tutorial level, and ones that get progressively more difficult. Then again, I don't know what you're going for.

One trick I noticed is that it was quite easy to simply button mash [Shoot].

The character was also a bit difficult to control. It might be easier with like, a joystick or something, but going for a full 360 movement ability made the game way weirder. It's alright though, just not really my cup of tea. It does make fine movements a bit harder. Maybe being able to turn without moving forward would be nice. Or like a button to auto face forward.

Liked the bouncy walls, that was a nice touch.

Anyway, some things that could be added to improve the game:
Boss level? Something that requires lots of hits to go down and throws barrels at you or something.
Powerups? Maybe one that makes the shot bigger for some time, or like a tri shot. Alternatively, you could add coins to improve weapons and health through a shop or something.
A High Score display
Enemies that don't die super easily: invinvible rocks you have to dodge, water snakes that are longer, turtles with extra health (buff turtles).

HersanDonCoello responds:

Those are fantastic Ideas! Thank you For Playing my game! you were absolutely right. I was going for a bit of an arcade vibe. thanks again. ill take this to heart!

this is insanely hard, mainly bc of the acceleration. then by the time you reposition to hit something you over correct on turning and hit the rock or frog. killing things should at least give some points too. not bad, but needs tweaking

HersanDonCoello responds:

Thank you so much! This is exactly why i uploaded my game!
