It's a neat game. I want to go farther in it, but there are a few frustrating elements.
The process of entering buildings in town is too slow. Every time you click, you have to wait several seconds for the NPC to greet you, and then a delay before the buttons appear to shop. There's no reason to slow down the player like that, especially because one has to keep going back to those buildings over and over to turn in cores and buy more potions. Just let us enter and start shopping. We don't need to click the shop, then click again to say, "Yes, I want to shop".
Another thing, and maybe I'm missing some control in the game, but there is no way to unequip your starting equipment (sword, shield, bow) if you don't have something to replace it. Since I can't unequip my sword, and I can't upgrade an equipped weapon, this means I have to buy a duplicate sword so that I can upgrade it, and then swap it with my equipped sword. That feels like being ripped off. There should be a way to upgrade an equipped weapon, or to unequip a weapon without replacing it. Again, if that's possible, and I just missed the control, then that should be conveyed.
The food system is interesting, but with no signs of recipes, it seems like just trial and error to try and find combinations that work. If that's your objective, I guess it works, but it got tedious just trying random combinations of ingredients with no guidance (I mean, just 6 ingredients over 4 slots is already 1296 possible combinations). It stopped being fun very quickly.
I hope this criticism is constructive. I can see a lot of potential in this game, it's got some fun mechanics, and I like the roguelike way you can keep trying to get farther and farther. Just needs some user-interface tweaks. I wish you the best as a game developer.
