Mother Is Gone is a short horror game made for the Ludum Dare 49 Game Jam.
"The light compels yee! The light! The- *death rattle*"
Basically what my playthrough summed up to.

Too hard, the monster just too fast and it ignores light, keeps following you until it's depleted

As a tip, the monster will not attack you when the flashlight is up. In case it runs out, you should switch to another room until it despawns or find a charger, which will quickly replete it. Make sure to use the flashlight accordingly!
Give it another go, and you might find it's much easier than it seems.
