The concept is very intriguing but it needs a little more work. The text crawl at the bottom is a little too slow, and in a game where every decision you make can affect whether you get burned at the stake or not it would be nice to get quicker feedback. Maybe some kind of gauge or mechanic that allows you to hear the rumours at any given time would be a better option.
The potion mechanic should also be reworked. With only four potions to choose from it's almost too easy to be effective and draw suspicion. Maybe instead of choosing potions the player can instead brew potions that fix one or all the ailments, giving them control on how much suspicion they raise.
I really like this idea, and I would love to see it come back with more options and control for the player.
