Very cool, it worked on my phone well and reminded me of an old arcade game I used to love
Jump Ramps is a 3D racer inspired by Powerdrift, Stunt Car Racer, Hard Drivin'.
Choose from 8 varied race tracks, and overtake the other drivers in 5 laps to win. As well as racing you'll need to navigate jumps, roller-coaster like ramps and occasionally even drive upside down.
Includes 4 difficulty levels, plus a practice mode for getting the feel of the tracks.
Controls
Arrow keys = Steer and accelerate/brake
Z/X = Alternative accelerate/brake
P = Pause menu (when racing)
Alt+Enter = Toggle full screen mode
Or plug in a game controller. Currently works with XBox 360 controllers and those with similar layouts.
Mobile controls
Touch the icon to steer and slide left/right the amount to turn by. Release to recenter.
Press to brake.
Press to accelerate.
Tips
You don't have to wait to be automatically respawned after you fall of the track, select "Respawn" in the pause menu to get back into the race faster.
The green and red lines on the speedometer are recommended minimum and maximum speeds. The green line (minimum speed) is particularly important for clearing jumps (and occasionally getting up steep hills), so make sure to keep your speed above it. The red line (maximum speed) is to prevent you from sliding out on sharp corners or overshooting the jumps. Typically this is just a suggested speed - depending on your racing line, driving style etc you may be able to go faster.

This was cool- especially as you don't see many games like this on Newgrounds or... anywhere, really in the last 25 years! The nostalgic style gives the game both its strengths and weaknesses- summed up by the lawnmower style engine SFX which is equally funny, nostalgic and infuriating! I enjoyed playing anyway. I'm sure I'll come back to this :)
its a great game. i just wish there were music to add some liveliness to the races. i also liked the style you went for to make it more like a PS1/SNES game.
Damn. This is amazing. How long did this take?
Thanks.
It depends how you measure it. It was originally implemented for Pico-8, which took about 4 months. Then I ported it to HTML 5 to make this version which took maybe a month.
Great game! Remind me the old "Stunt Car Racer" by Geoff Grammond!!
Loved that game! It definitely was a strong influence.
