This week is Shark Week on the Discovery Channel, and because I like sharks, I try to make pieces for the occasion. This animation, done in Photoshop, focuses around sharks and one of the Henry Stickmin characters, Sven Svensson.

I'm not sure how it got started, but there is this theory among fan circles that Sven has an affinity for shark plush toys. But as far as I know, no one had done a horror take on the idea. This is my interpretation, taking inspiration from the film Jaws and a tea mug I have in my possession - if you pour hot water in it, sharks will appear on the outside of it. If there's no water or if the water's cooled off, the sharks will go away. This trick was what inspired the shark animation - appear and disappear like smoke.

I should make this clear - to anyone who subscribes to this theory or who loves sharks, this is not an attack on the idea, Sven or sharks. I like Sven and I especially like sharks, but I couldn't resist taking the idea and turning it on its head. My sense of humor is a little skewed and I'm proud of it haha!
