Game is in version 0.1

I added the laser sound and background music. Will begin working on

  • Saving High Score
  • Adding explosions
  • Adding new enemies with a homing missile type of attack.
  • Adding Power Ups

Please give me lots of suggestions, this is my first ever C# and Unity program.

This hit boxes are a little off, and you can’t turn and shoot at the same time, which makes it feel sluggish and inaccurate. Also, moving away and turning around means you cannot shoot the enemy without flying into them or getting shot, and when that inevitably happens, there is no visible health, so you can’t even see your damage.

Also, as a general rule, always put the controls in the description. It's arrow keys and spacebar as I figure it.

I see what you mean about the arrow keys locking you up when shooting. If you use WASD and space it works properly. I think I called WASD by name instead of the horizontal/vertical movement.

Pretty decent shooter, it could be better. Maybe in the future updates it would be a lot better compared to this version.

I find it nice that I could hold spacebar to keep shooting but I ran into an issue where I could not turn while shooting. I also could not shoot while turning (pressing space while holding left or right). I'm not sure if that is a bug or a feature.

The player moves too slow in my opinion, maybe make the player just a little bit faster. Maybe upgrades would be a nice thing to add in the future, like +5% movement speed or damage (capped at 25% or whatever you want so the player won't be overpowered) that would last until the player runs out of lives. Also it would be nice to show player health or at least have something that signifies player health (like show that the ship is getting damaged).

I also think that this game needs aesthetic effects like audio and visual effect of enemies dying, like ship explosions with audio. Particle effects when enemies and asteroids get hit would also be a nice detail.
