In a post-apocalyptic world, sometime after the year XXXX, Role and Cinna are the only two able bodies that can scavenge supplies for their community. They explore with their trusty carrier vehicle, Mon, gathering supplies and buckets from ruins to return to their home. Who knows, the buckets can be the keys to something bigger (I doubt it).

This is the first time I've used HaxeFlixel, found it enjoyable to learn and easy to code with. It's excellent when it comes to 2D games development; Figuring out and working with its quirks is part of the fun (at least for me). From my experience so far, there's plenty more I can do with it and want to try making different games with the different features it offers. Also I hope to see more too!

Warning: I made the art and sounds to this game myself. (And I'm very "good" at it too)

But to those with lesser tolerance to this "good" art;

It may cause:

  • Nausea
  • Headaches
  • Insomnia
  • Constipation
  • Oily Discharges
  • Severe deja vu
  • Blurred vision
  • Temporary blindness
  • Loss of life
  • Diarrhea

If you want to still play, a blindfold helps lessen these effects.

Thank you, hope you have fun and stay healthy! '3'

Boy there's a lot of ideas going on here. Overall like the presentation but it's rather hard to control. I don't really recommend dual control setups in a tag team game. I get there's some underlying game design reason for that, but... I just really don't recommend it. It's a bit hard to figure out your objective at that, and the game could use some music. I do like the art, though, and there's some very effective use of dual FlxCameras which I always appreciate c:

Really, I had a lot more ideas implemented but cut them out because I was still learning about HaxeFlixel; thought each feature was really cool while going through the documentations. But I can really go overboard when I'm having fun making it. Later, figuring it to be better just to make it overall "simple". The Substates were a pain though. One sub was not laggy, but the other was. Overall, I'm glad no one found the real secr--. 'x'

I like the Atari-esque aesthetic, but I don't have a clear goal, I scavenged a bunch of room and I went right as far as i could. I also never used the girl. would be cool to see it expanded because it's just too light right now

IXthe2nd responds:

I did feel like I could've done more with her, did consider throwing her out, but I did wanted to keep her. :>

Main comment: It seems like there will probably be more to the game than picking up a bunch of supplies and bringing them back to the base once you get further into it, and I can totally understand if you want this to be an exploration game where the player has to get pretty deep into it before they figure out secrets, but so far at least for me it's difficult to get into it without more explanation of what's going on and what I'm supposed to do other than gather supplies (which gets pretty boring without a larger context).

Other stuff: The goomba thing was eating all my stuff from the car while the dude was in a building and the chick just stands there... can she do anything against them or is she really just a lookout? As it is, I was at first wondering if I was doing something wrong since I couldn't get her to go into any buildings and later was wondering if she can do anything at all. Using the "i" key to resume from the Static Screen (?) where supplies are delivered is weird and I'd recommend changing it to "y".

IXthe2nd responds:

I always like the concept of exploring endlessly without any goals. And you're probably right about it being more more than picking up a bunch of supplies, there could be... 'x'
