This series definitely has potential. If I may offer up some friendly advice from fellow animator.
I'd recommend not stretching or squishing the backgrounds so much as it can really seem out of place with the sprites. I'd recommend adding quick transitions if you wish to save time animating. Doing this rather than sudden cuts will help with the over all flow of the animation.
Some of the the sprites walking movement seems rather slow (such as Link's running in the intro), I'd recommend speeding it up a touch and utilizing one sprite for a character rather than multiple different ones. Unless you are using portraits such as when you showed the applicants, just make sure there is a bit of space underneath portrait as well so it doesn't look like it's on the board of the screen.
For the scenes where it's just sprites talking to each other adding a little bit of bounciness to liven them up could help make the scene more lively.
The voice acting is good if not decent thou some of the audio, such as Lisa's segment could have been better edited.
I hope this advice will help you get better. I look forward to your work moving forward :D
