I like the whole tri wizards cup theme going on here, but I have no control over my wizard and it makes the game impossible to play and actually have fun.

You're on the right track! Improve the control sensitivity to be a bit more stable and that will help quite a bit. Otherwise, this looks like it will be quite fun once finished! Good job!
