Mad Scientist and known Crazy Man Professor Weyland Von Lock has just had a fantastically hard day of sciencing stuff. He has decided “You know what?! It’s time for a picnic” because that’s totally stuff a Mad Scientist would do! In his mind blur of knowledgey stuff he grabs the wrong picnic basket (he grabs the one labeled science) and then sets out to his picnic. Upon finding a fantabulous spot he plops down and pulls out a sandwich. As he goes in to take a bite he realizes “that’s not delicious cracked black pepper turkey! It’s a black hole!” The world around him is consumed leaving nothing but his thoughts in the void. Is his mind strong enough to manifest a new world? Why is the blackhole full of enemies?! Why does killing them seem to bring back his focus? Are they his inner demons? Why am I asking all these questions?

All text world and enemies. After beating a certain amount of enemies you regain a piece of the Professors fragmented view of reality. You will stay in one room fighting waves of enemies after finding a [weapon of player choice]. You can swing the word chosen to fight the waves of enemies.

Pretty well done. A skip dialogue would be nice, or at least let it advance a little faster. I too had issue with the enemies spawning on top of me, but once I realized I would just swing wild between waves and lost minimal hearts. Giving yourself a weapon was a cool feature, and the second play through I figured out the "trick" to it. I just wish it was a little longer, so the whole level developed from the text to animations.

mortalglitch responds:

The length ended up being because of a mad rush right toward the end of the game jam trying to get it fleshed out as much as I could. I'm having a bit of a rough bit trying to pin down what is happening with the enemies spawning on the player. It keeps happening to me up towards the top of the screen. I will see if I can get that touched up.

Thank you for checking it out!

The game glitched a few times for me too, but I finished it, by granting myself 'The Greatest Weapon in the Universe and Beyond and Stuff' instead of the Laser Gun I tried in my first playthrough.

mortalglitch responds:

I'm having trouble pin-pointing the exact reason the bug happens. Seems to happen a lot more to me at the top of the screen for some reason. Will keep hammering at it and see what comes of it. Ty for checking it out!

I personally thought this was a well thought out game. I didn't complete it, as it did glitch a couple times, but it was still a very good game. It was a very clever and original idea. The dialogues could be less robotic, and sound more natural. Also sometimes the enemies would spawn right where I was standing so I'd automatically lose hearts. Either way, from what I played, it seemed very creative. It is a little repetitive, it's just swinging at enemies, but its still a good game.

mortalglitch responds:

Thanks for giving it a shot and for the kind words! I will take a look into the spawner and see what is going on.
