I love this! I did a more in-depth review on my blog, but great job dev!! https://spookplayreviews.blogspot.com/2023/10/3-dark-games-from-newgrounds.html
whatshername tells the story of a young woman trying to finish her homework. This side-scolling psychological horror narrative contains dark and depressive visuals, audio, and story, some strong language, and is intended for a mature audience. The game lasts roughly 20-30 minutes and contains a minimalist interface, as well as two separate endings.
Contains extremely depressing content that may not be appropriate for some people.

Please let me know what you think and any bugs you might find.
v1 -
-webGL build may be unstable in certain browsers, graphics are lower quality
-small animation bug, aspect ratio issues, lighting/shadow/shader issues, no pause menu
-poor optimization, recommend 1024x768 resolution on pc/mac
ALSO - If you want to replay the game for the other ending, quit and restart the program (or refresh browser) as the 'restart' button doesn't destroy the variables. Whoops.

felt this in my soul, same girl same
edit: just finished the second ending. loved it! it was a little difficult for me because it felt like I did the same thing that led me to it the first few times around and somehow didn't find what I needed until recently. a small walkthrough would have def helped, thank you kind stranger of the youtube comment section that helped me out! cant wait to see more work from you :)
relatable.
I approve. its a good game with a good concept, it was a little slow though not too bad
i know it probably sucks to hear this after you spent so much time on the art (probably) but the cornfield just kinda blended together and made me kinda sick. i would recamend either makeing the cornfield lower quality with easier to define/see borders for each of the corn stalks or somehow try to make them stand out from each other more( or just shorten it)
other than that good game and good ending... i really hate writing reviews
Thank you very much for playing, writing your thoughts, and your constructive criticism. I had originally built the game for PC download. WebGL was an afterthought, and the graphics suffered in that version, but you're right, the corn part was too long. Also, I'd just like to say it means a lot that you took the time to tell me your thoughts. I understand this game is not for everyone, and its intended for those suffering from depression and other mental illnesses. I know how hard it can be to even voice your opinions anonymously, but comments like these motivate me to keep producing and creating similar things, knowing there are people out there that will understand it. Thank you very much!
it is good
Thanks!
