Yes, totally normal.

Big thanks to Brett Bunn for letting me use his music.

This was my senior degree project for Massart, the school I graduated from. I have a BFA in animation.

That was really great. The tree that turns people into apples was great. But I didn't like how it looked.
If you want to keep that kind of graphics you should probably delete the colors,it'd actually look better.

This takes me back to the golden days of Newgrounds. The time of senseless violence and sinister stories that we quietly watched with morbid fascination in our eyes. I'd say I'm glad to see things of that nature still comes out every now and then, but I prefer cuter things nowadays. And I'm not talking about the likes of Happy Tree Friends...

Still, this is well animated and the pacing is excellent. I can't fault it for that. I just wish the story had some sort of lasting character, unless you count a sentient, bloodthirsty apple tree as a character. Come to think of it, I've probably heard of crazier things to create horror out of... like snowmen or tomatoes.

But speaking of horror: There are better ways to unsettle someone than to simply show a series of unsettling deaths. Building up suspense and atmosphere is the most important part of horror, not creating a bloodbath; unless you're trying to parody the Saw-movies I suppose...

So yeah, the animation is well done and fluid, but the story leaves a lot to be desired. It's not bad for a school project, but as a short movie it's a bit lacking. Find yourself a decent script and I'm sure you could create something excellent in the future.

Xerclipse responds:

Thank you for the feedback but its not really supposed to be a horror animation. Its a comedy. Its not meant to be scary.

Turning people into apple is hot. But not as hot as Macrophilia though.
