Inspired by old zxspectrum games.

controls: arrow keys and X button

Hint: Any screen edge not covered by walls leads to another screen

I can't get the game to start :( pressing any buttons doesn't do anything. Loved this game when I played it a long time ago though.

Okay something worked, but I don't know which button I pressed, haha.

Best way to describe this - a futuristic open world RPG with unique gameplay and powerful engine. (Jatpack has an engine)

Worst way to describe this - a short browser puzzle game.

The truth is somewhere in between.

I like these Metrovindiana type backtracking games where you must gain powerups to access new areas. usually their main problem is figuring out how to introduce new abilities, but by the formula of this game - new fuel capacity can be increased almost indefinably and so the potential for upgrades is infinite.

To create a truly spectacular game, I would recommend the author to consider making a sequel where this gameplay is combined with some action type gameplay, that also involves shooting, some blaster upgrades and max health upgrades and maybe some other upgrades to access new areas also in different way. Setting could be some mars like planet with aliens to fight against. That would make one helluva great game and would not need to great graphics, this same oldschool style would work perfectly and would even give special charm.

I finished the game with only 90 fuel, by using my sick hover strats.

you did it. i had the same experience that only really old games could give, even the end screen gives you the same experience. when you see how much time you lost in complete (almost) silence in your room. you really feel it (?. nice game by the way (i started pushing my self at 5 minutes of gameplay. modern games are not the same at all ;_;)

It took me nearly half an hour, but I managed to get all the fuel upgrades and beat the game. Some background music would be nice in your next game, though.
