Get ready to experience the noble tradition of journalist.
America recently ranked 17th in the world for Freedom of The Press. The news media is a corporate entity - and like most corporations, they lie to you.

Newgrounds isnt really the forum for this, but this game got me going:

The media is crap. The media's primary motivation is making money. News is entertainment, if it really were serious and objective people wouldnt watch it.

Secondly, its pushing the promoting the personal opinions of the few individuals who run media conglomerates. If you dont believe me, watch CNN, BBC, or any other news services. You'll notice certain consistent viewpoints throughout.

A big problem is the reporters and the media in general has this notion that it is their mission to change the world. Their job is to report news, thats it. Because once you go around thinking you're changing opinions you're always going to be biased in your reporting.

Finally, that global ranking for freedom of press is itself biased. I dont want to get into why, but I have numerous arguments to support my claims.

I'll just say this; the US was ranked 17th because of reporters being jailed for refusing to give up sources. That doesn't sound very good. But its not unique to the US; and think about it this way: If someone you cared about was killed by someone. And a reporter had information regarding who did it, but he/she did not want to reveal this source I'm sure anyone would be upset.

And when it comes down to it, is this reporter thinking about freedom of the press, or their own career?

I know this is a stretch, but I'm just making a point.

The media should be a not-for-profit organization. If they didnt exist to make money then maybe they'd be more objective.

Sorry about this ranting, everyone... I return you to your regularly scheduled program.

The examples you cite are the purpose of ACTIVISM, not JOURNALISM. Journalism is the art of presenting current events in an unbiased, objective viewpoint. For example, even a middling journalist would offer direct sources for his statements, which you do not.
Your concerns are not necessarily misplaced. I'm personally frustrated Bush is using 9/11 as an excuse to carry on a family feud myself. But you simply don't know what you're talking about. I find if you think before you speak, it helps your argument immensely.

It was really funny at first, but then you started standing on a soap box and politicizing everything at the very end. Not consistant enough to be worth much, sorry.
