After the disastrous rule of the previous Emperor, the Imperial army have placed you, a distant relative with no training, on the throne. With rebellions, religious insurgency, widespread famine, and a rapidly dwindling treasury, time is not on your side. Over the course of one year you must decide how best to spend your time, training your skills to enable you to make the right decisions to restore the once great Empire of the Setting Sun to its former glory, or condemn it and you to the dustbin of history.

Good game, another of the Princess Maker type, very similar to Long Live The Queen but I typically enjoy those. A slightly longer demo would have helped to get a better feel for how the story is written and such, but not bad. Also the "visit the website" and "see it on steam" buttons aren't working for me and I can't get either ways to work in manual typing (that didn't effect my review, just a heads up)

I did enjoy this game. Definitely found myself wanting more. Some of the checks were a little too difficult and the bonus to skill building seemed random. I had +2 to social for a whole game. Maybe tweak that a bit. Otherwise engaging story and interesting graphics.

I really like the idea of this game. Of course with unlocked costumes from the full game, one would be able to pass these difficult checks in the beginning , so thats not an issue with me. Its mostly unexpected tests and fairly heavy handed in how it throws things at you and a disappointment. I mean, living in the country and you don't know anything about it seems pretty far-fetched..

It's the type of game that i'll like. The music, the graphic, the story are all attracting me. But some parts of game are driving me crazy, especially some special events. Some events need a certain status to be high enough. But those events just come too early and i dont realize it. Some early events will make u die directly. And the desert is a little confusing. Lastly, why there's no such thing as rest? I just wanna restore all my energy when it's super low!

At the beginning good things: music is good, art is better, story... hard to tell, but so far it's on high level, gameplay seems to be decent too. Now to things that could use some work:

First, when you get option to sneak out, desert becomes accessible, but I think It's not proprly explained.

It might be just me, but I can't find options or mute button. If it isn't there, that's REALLY bad. Even if it's there, moving it to more visible place would help, Music is good, but I don't think if fits for hours of play.

Also, if It's not due to me not seeing options button, I have issue with save: game autosaves at the beginning of a week. Since there is only one save I don't see the point in using it, as new save will overwrite old instantly after choosing one action.
Furthermore, I can't change the name of save for some reasons (I think it's meant to be changeable?)

While it might be due to 16 weeks limit not being the "real" end, clothes aren't appearing in main menu. (death's does, for some reasons).

Finally, when I close the page and open it again, my save was deleted.
It might be due to outdated browser I'm using (opera 12,10).

And it's a bit short (even for a demo).
