It's like flappy bird; it is so fun but you hate it because it is so hard yet for some reason you still love it

This is a good legit game but is not 3D doe this is 2D difficulty is very easy I finished the game in like 7 minutes I think or close to that graphics are ok idk if you did the background but if you did props to you nice background hope you keep making games :)

"Oh, great! A bunch of advertisements went on display before the game even started. That's exactly what we want in their newgrounds games... Gamers love seeing this! It would be crime if you didn't include more to interrupt our game time. You know what, F*** you!" - First Impressions Spoken Outloud

The intro above is misleading because Micro Ski 3D actually turned out to be a fun game. It is the best sports game I've ever played on newgrounds to date, which makes me proud to review it. The object of the game is to try and pass through checkpoints before the a countdown of 99 (which timed to be about 62 seconds) timer runs out. There are 6 levels to play, each with their own obstacles. As you progress, you'll have to pass through even more checkpoints to win. You have 3 health points, and every time you hit a rock you lose 1 health point. When your health points reach 0 or if you fail to meet enough checkpoints in the required time, you have to start from the beginning of that level all over again. Have this happen to you 3 times, your level progression will be erased, it asks for you to submit your total high score, and you have to start all over again from the very first level!! And it never tells you on-screen how many lives you have left, or if it's even possible to replenish them. The fun part of this game is you get to set your own challenge. You can go super fast, or you can take it slow to ensure you get the checkpoints without running risks. The game doesn't require you to get every checkpoint available, and gives you plenty of time in each level to meet the deadline - This is a comfortable approach for casual players, and hardcore players who want to make the leaderboard. Sure it doesn't have the best graphics, completely disregards it's animations, and has half-dozen other issues but the consistency of meeting checkpoints feels real.

Now for the issues with this game: After you complete level 3, objects get reused and nothing new ever gets added, so you feel like you're playing the same map 4 times in a row. How come there isn't any deer or snow wolves? Where are the collapsed trees? How about gigantic snowbanks, or ice that prevents you from being able to turn? Micro Ski 3D may just be a simple high score game but I feel like it was lacking in terms of a realistic snowy mountain. It sorely needed this in the atmosphere especially with these crummy graphics and a cookie-cut wallpaper photo in the background.
Here are more issues...

- There's no way to pause the game once you start playing.
- Same f***ing song the entire game!
- Yellow balls fall from the sky, but don't do anything. I get the feeling they were supposed to contribute to high score, but for me it didn't feel like they did anything at all.
- Musics a little loud compared to the sound effect volume.
- Feels more like a racing game than an actual skiing game. It's a one-set course with invisible walls placed to prevent players from going off-track. <-- Despite this being in the list of issues, game will not be penalized for this.
- Level 5 is blinding to the human eyes! So much brightness everywhere!

At the end of the day, Micro Ski 3D makes the cut, and that is why I'm giving this game a 7 out of 10! It earns itself a sequel, and greatly makes up for the horrible Anacondas game the author posted earlier. You're getting better at making fun games - keep it up!

Final Verdict: 7 out of 10
NG Rating: 3.5 Stars

Pretty cool 3D effect, but the gameplay is not very fun, and it's hard to know where you're supposed to go.
