Richard dedicated this game to Satoru Iwata 1959-12-06 to 2015-07-11, President and CEO of Nintendo from 2002 to 2015

A quote he came up with when reading about his life:
For gaming to succeed as an industry it is necessary to have business men and women who are gamers at heart. Richard Boegli

Help Sam Smile as he tries to avoid all the wrong foods by dodging and shooting them with carrots.

Known Issues:
1) If it doesn't load, hit refresh, it gets stuck sometimes
2) We cannot get it to load in the new Microsoft Edge browser in Windows 10.
3) Sometimes carrots do not fire in first level, click "Unlock this level" and then select level again.

Left and Right Arrows Keys / D Pad to Move
Shoot Carrots - Ctrl and A button
Jump - Up Arrow / Space and B button

There is a 1kg / 2.2lb weight that is the key to progress to the next week.
Collect Lightning bolts for Mental Strength.
Stars are just for Completionists.

Full game will have 40 levels, one for each week.

It'll be on iOS and Android soon (just like his book....), but you can play it on phones and tablets already as it supports touch.

From the chapter "Lessons Learnt – Observations and Failed Strategies", finding ways to distract yourself from eating is important. This game is part of a series of games that were developed to act as distractions to take your mind off eating.

Jumping and hit detection both feel off. This game has some bugs.

Couldn't get it to run after reloading a few times.

We have noticed this on the odd occasion, what browser and version are you using?
We've uploaded a new version which should fix this, please let us know if it is still happening?
We cannot get it to load in the new Microsoft Edge browser in Windows 10.
Thanks.

While the controls are very tight, jumping is very floaty and often the double jump feels unnecessary, The level design for the most part was ok, but some jerkish placements of spikes at the end of the level were sometimes frustrating. Also the level design should be worked on to complement the addition of a double jump so it doesn't feel unnecessary. Hit detection was often very off and I found myself having to hit a block over and over before it would register that I hit it. Enemies would appear right in front of me and felt out of place constantly flying in. The game also bugged on the first level so that I couldn't use my carrots. I still don't know the purpose of the stars and lightning. Overall I would say it definitely still needs quite a bit of work done, but it shows promise.

> jumping is very floaty and often the double jump feels unnecessary
Agreed, Sam Smile is suppose to feel floaty and light, as he is the "lighter" character.
There are other characters which will have a heavier movement and only be able to single jump.

> The level design for the most part was ok
Thanks.

> but some jerkish placements of spikes at the end of the level were sometimes frustrating.
By design, ice cream is always a food that is really hard to not eat.

> Also the level design should be worked on to complement the addition of a double jump so it doesn't feel unnecessary.
Only 10 out of the 40 levels are in this version, double jump becomes more useful in future levels.

> Hit detection was often very off and I found myself having to hit a block over and over before it would register that I hit it.
What browser and version were you using?
We've published a new version modifying the collision box.

> Enemies would appear right in front of me and felt out of place constantly flying in.
Yes, the randomness is a bit annoying, we'll look at that.

> The game also bugged on the first level so that I couldn't use my carrots.
It is a known issue, just forgot to list it.

> I still don't know the purpose of the stars and lightning.
TBA :)

> Overall I would say it definitely still needs quite a bit of work done, but it shows promise.
Thanks for the constructive feedback. This is our first published 2d platformer, so we are still tweaking the mechanics.
