Lox is an arcadey hybrid of Platformer and SHMUP. You must run and jump along the ground while battling flying foes.

Arrow Keys - Move
X - Jump
C - Shoot

what the secret medals?

I like this arcade game. It presents a few different challenges. You must avoid the the falling bullets, while making sure not to touch the let side of the screen and to avoid falling into the pit. It definitely is challenging, which is good. I'd really like to see this turned into a platform game. Good job.

By the way, how do I get the secret medal?

In Russian Lox (it spells loh) is a Loser. Kinda funny ,isn't it?

Well, there are medals but a high scores list would be more appropriate as far goals go, in my opinion.

Also, Joust with bullets comes to mind when playing this.

There's a high score list, but you have to press a button to reach it (it's the little fist icon on the right of the Medals bar). I can't seem to find a way to make that the default display.

I like the layout of a game, but at the same time it feels like there is no... point. It just keeps going and going, or is there an end? The beasts are varied, the controls are simple, the graphics are nice and pixely and overall it's a both addicting and challenging venture, but it feels there's nothing to reach for. Maybe add more of a plot? Keep it going!

malec2b responds:

I wanted to keep it a simple arcadey experience, so the motivation is trying to survive as long as you can and get a high score. I didn't want to make it a story game as, with this sort of game, I think it's more effective to leave that up to the player's imagination.
