AR Arcade re-captures the fun and challenge of retro, old-school arcade games and wraps it all up in a neon-pixel shooter. Familiar foes present themselves over the course of 20 exciting levels.
very nice! i like the idea of throwing all these nostalgic enemies at you at once.
This game really brought back the good old memories of the retro arcade gaming era with its pixel graphics,every 'character' and sound effects.Maybe there could have be a set of mini games,instead of one but this is still a pretty good idea anyways.There is enough challenge in here to occupy some time and it is a good thing that the player respawns on a later level after a game over,instead of starting over,saving time and effort though it will be more difficult.There could be powerups like shield or rapid-fire for short time in the game but that may ruin the overall arcade gaming experience which tests skills.Good work on this as it is great to relive those old days of the arcade games.
(Note:Points are given when the player's ship is moved in front of its own shots without taking any damage,a harmless glitch or part of the game?)

Well you managed to put half of my childhood in 20 minutes :D just please change the background "song" that thing almost gave me a headache

Thanks to everyone who has so far played and reviewed the game :) I really appreciate it. I've uploaded a newer version with attempted to address some of the audio issues a little bit by lowering the volume of the background 'drone' ;) I've also reduced the size of the swf download from 3.6mb (way to high for a small game like this) to around 700kb which is a bit more like it. Thanks again. Note: You may need to clear your cache if you wanted to re-play the game with the changes.
It had the potential to be a very entertaining game, but its just far too boring. Ramp it up with some faster gameplay, powerups and please, PLEASE get new music. That drone is terrible.
