Mainly made to freshen up my as3. The sprites are a bit bugged but the basic game is there. This was made in a mere 3 days wile learning for finals.
I just wanted to make a splitscreen mode. And I figured out how to make it!
The control button to attack, really? It's a bad choice, it is in an awkward placement. Also it doesn't really work all that well for attacking an enemy that looks just like you.
When attacking it's a clumsy guess at best.
The map is soooo small, and the two mushroom/lollipop portals do nothing.
I can see you improving this to make it a real game, but as it is.....BLAH.

I appreciate the effort, I'm sure you put into this game, but I feel it still has a lot of work needed. You mentioned it was for a class so it's passable, but I don't feel it belongs here on ng.
Good concept, bad exacution, make enemies that dont look all the same and this could be a good game.
