As a practice I made an Arcanoid engine. This is how it turn out after some polishing.

Well, I'll give you a suggestion, the power-ups should drop more slowly than the ball, as it is, it's just impossible to get power-ups and intercept the ball at the save time (unless the ball and power-up are at the same place), especially if the power-up is at the other side of the screen, opposite the ball. This feature just killed my interest in this game. The graphics and music are good, don't get discouraged, keep at it, this is really excellent programming results, especially from just a mere practice attempt.

Pretty good. A couple of suggestions. When blocks require more than one hit, it would be good if they would change color, develop cracks, etc. so that you know how many times more you have to hit them. Second, when you catch a level up, there should also be a points bonus so that you're not penalized at game end for getting a level up. Either that or make the power ups slower and more recognizable so that you can avoid ones that you don't want.

Welcome to your first day of programming no wait, we are long past this stuff.
Guys please if your going to make a game, at least make one that doesn't bore you in a second have the same graphics quality as a turd and glitch every ten seconds. This was a really crap game plain and simple.

Wow that was bad, invisible blocks that send the ball back, no matter what the direction the ball was going in it heads down after hitting a block, some blocks take several hits but others of the same colour take one, no mute button or equivalent. the soundtrack is downright annoying and why on earth would you put a powerup in the game that skips the level. that defeats the entire point of a breakout clone.

Solid ark clone, but needs sound effects/music. Also could do with some more interesting effects graphics-wise. You say you made an engine out of it. Which suggests that it may be versatile and reusable. If that's the case, then I can't wait to see what's next!

out of 10...
gfx - 5 (basic shapes and okay colors)
sfx - 0 (no sounds?! wtf?!)
design - 6 (nothing special, but it's solid)
gameplay - 5 (have to admit, very bored of arkanoid)

overall, a really decent clone but nothing too special. Most interesting part is when you say it's an entire engine and not just made of paperclips and chewing gum.
