Venusian Vengeance is a top-down run 'n' gun game in an alternate history where The Communists won the Space Race and colonized Venus. The Americans weren't far behind with their own space program, though, and sent you to Venus to uncover what The Communists are developing in their Secret Laboratory.
This demo contains parts of the first and third levels of the game. The full game has 10 levels.

To be honest I WOULD pay to play this game...
finding such ( NIS ) Style and game play let me remember the old days retro games that anyone like to replay them again... finally I find a game that worth playing since I was encounter some Laggy craps here posted in Newgrounds !
One for the effort. I'd pay a dime for this game, and no more. Your dreams of becoming rich through your hard work will most likely be shattered by the reality that this game is not worth paying for. Even if this were way back in the day, and I purchased this at prime price for the NES, I'd be back in the store the next day, asking for my money back. It simply does not generate enough interest to shell out real money for - especially when you look around at all the works of sheer (free) art that are posted already on Newgrounds. Personally, I don't care if it's an app or not.
Can you read peoples mind? I start the game and saw life bar top left corner with face, I was thinking it would be cool if you take damage make it visible on it... it does (awesome idea!!!). I wished for a RL... got it. Was going to say you should add your game to Steam Greenlight... it was added (just voted). But there's one little stupid thing I need to ask, checkpoints. What are they, look like little rocket propelled jacks, after all we are on Venus, yes?
Good story telling and good concept, could become really cool with more work! And the ending was slightly disappointing and abrupt
