Retro style platform and shooting game, 60 seconds for each level.
Needs a few things to be really good.
You have a very interesting basis for a game with strong core ideas. However there are a few frustrating points.
First and foremost, I would recommend a defensive posture or at minimum a duck to dodge tricky shots with. You can't just rely on the player being able to shoot down all the shots when some are placed right at the top of the hit box. Unless you increase the firing rate but I believe this would be detrimental as a whole, unless the increase is rather small.
The next main item I would mention would be the fact you must pick up the gun in every level. Not only does this not make sense continuity wise but I believe this game mechanic would be better served by switches and doors.
Lastly, I would beg that the game restart sequence after a death is shortened and simplified. However if the other suggestions are followed this may not be needed due to the expected drop in meaningless deaths. These faults may be few but, unfortunately, are very glaring and ruined my experience with the game. Leaving me frustrated with a game I was gearing up to enjoy finishing. With these suggestions accomplished I believe this game would be quite enjoyable.
