BEFORE YOU WATCH:
EDIT: If the music stops part-way or goes out of sync, it might be because of loading on-the-fly or you may need to lower the quality. My computer runs it smoothly on my end, so I'm not sure what could cause it. Sorry about the lack of a preloader or play button. Can't figure that part out lol.
Hi Newgrounds! This is my first finished animation so be gentle.
This was my final for my Fundamentals of Design course. It involved studying various aspects of design, including abstract design, and I thought that animating shapes would be the best way to start actually making Flash cartoons. The song is the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah, for those who didn't know. It could've been better, but I'm not working on it again.
(I threw in the color last minute. It was required :P)

Nice experimental flash
I think you synced the shapes very greatly with the music. Some parts weren't perfect, but it was overall very well done. The different colors and odd shapes were nice to look at. :) The only problem I noticed was that there seems to be some animation at the end without any music. I'm not sure if it's my computer or not but if it isn't you should have stopped the animation where the music stopped.
The lack of a preloader wasn't a problem for me due to the small file size. It's still not a bad idea to add one though. You can get some already made from Newgrounds and they're quite easy to add into your movie. If you still need help, people at the Flash forums wouldn't mind helping you. A replay button would also be nice.
Overall, I think this is a great first animation. With some more practice I'm sure you could make something really great (not that this is bad or anything :P). I wouldn't mind seeing more movies like this. :]

Off sync
I thought it was okay, music went off sync pretty quickly. If you were to fix this issue I would give it a 7 because it was pretty to look at, but not much entertainment value. Keep working on it, I think there is potential here.

Good, but buggy
I like it, and its rather amusing (to me).
My only issues with it is near the end of the flash the music is immedietly cut off, but the animation continoues until it starts a new loop, in which case the music picks up again. After a second loop passes, the music stops again, but does not come back on after that.
The lack of a play button I can deal with, but the fact it loops and does cut off, gets to me a bit.
Otherwise good job on this piece, I hope to see different flashes from you later.

Yeah thanks for letting me know. I don't know much about scripting yet lol. I'll obviously make much more effort to polish these things up in the future.

I love this music. The Messiah is one of my favorite! I love the use of color, shapes, and music. Very nice for a first flash! One problem though: it will occasionally stop playing music around one minute in. Great job otherwise! Keep up the good work! 4/5 8/10
