I suck at it though, because I only got 178,888 points. Could be longer though.

Hey everyone,
I'm a (very) new flash developer, and this is my first flash game. Over the past 8 weeks or so I have been teaching myself ActionScript 3.0 with the help of a textbook and Adobe's online help stuff. Although I have programmed in the past (Visual Basic, C++, Java), this has been a completely new step for me since I am totally new to Flash in general.
I had a ton of fun making my first game, and I would like to make others as I find the time. I hope everyone enjoys playing my game as much as I enjoyed making it.

Thanks for your comment! I'm not really sure what you mean by "longer" though. Do you mean a longer time of gameplay? Unfortunately this is the kind of game where there is a wide amount of variability in how well users can do, and therefore, how long they play for in a single game.
Some Sprites Maybe
Interesting game to test reaction speeds, ok music, but I think it needs more work before it goes on newgrounds, like some better background or some sprites. Maybe a plot, too.

Thanks for the comment - all feedback is appreciated, especially the (polite) critical kind! I messed around with the concept of a more interesting background, but opted for simplistic partially because I didn't want TOO much distraction. But maybe I'll look into it again and change things around a bit.
It's supposed to be simple. I wasn't aiming for a complex game (obviously? hehe), but more of a time-killing, mindless thing that hopefully is some fun. And as for a plot...? It's a box. My next game will definitely not be so simplistic, but for this I think I'd struggle a lot to include a plot.

Very good start
For a new flash designer, this is a clean game. Its not exactly the epitome of fun, but its a really great start. the controls are smooth, the game worked exactly as it might, and towards the end, about 50 lines in, i was actually rushing to get through the hole a bit and found it challenging. Of course, as i said, this game isn't exactly what newgrounds members look for, but in terms of what you accomplished as a new flash user this shows really good potential for future games.

Thank you for the feedback. I wasn't expecting much on Newgrounds, as it's one of the biggest (THE biggest?) flash portals out there, and since it is my first game. But it's very helpful to hear that. Working on my own is tough since I'm not an artist, and I pretty much have to work with music I can get for free.
As for "what Newgrounds members look for," I don't know that I have a great idea of what that is, since I'm not an active member here. I hope to continue developing though, and maybe next time I'll have a bit more of that "Newgrounds feel."
