Lovely, lovely puzzle platformer! I love the ambient music, the simple, yet effective graphics and the fun, satisfying sound effects. The presentation feels perfect for this style of game.
Gameplay wise, the concept itself is as simple as it could be, but the stages designed around the concept are awesome fun to play. Basically, it's a puzzle platformer in which your character can wrap around the corners of the map like the map torus, and also pick up powerups, smash enemies and interact with some simple puzzle objects. It's a simple concept, and thankfully, it's simple in the best way possible. There are a handful of features, crazy enemy types and obstacles that are added as you progress through the game, and those keep things interesting throughout the experience. The challenge of the game is at first all about timing, but then it progresses, and you really have to think ahead of you in order to figure out how to be successful in a stage.
There are also some awesome "lateral thinking" stages where you have to figure out what to do by yourself, without resorting to the regular "find orb to open door" pattern of the other stages, and those add some more variation to the entire experience without overly complicating the game itself (level 23, for instance). Good stuff.
One of the few problems I have with this game is that sometimes the spikes blend in with the scenery too much, making them a pain in the butt to see. Overall, though, they were easy to identify once seen for the first time. Another problem, but maybe that's not really a problem, just a shortcoming, is that the game itself was a bit on the easy side, and maybe, if the levels were harder, it would make for a longer, more involving experience.
With all that said, man, I enjoyed playing this game a lot. I don't know, maybe it's something about the music, the ambient, or maybe the smooth gameplay, but this game relaxed me a lot.
