Sluggish and unintuitive
The presentation is nice, and the idea is cool, but the controls are far too sluggish. There's this awful delay between actions (landing from a jump, standing up from a crouch, turning around) that makes everything feel like it's happening in a sea of sticky molasses, and it really messes up any attempt at strategy since you need to plan for those immense delays when trying to position yourself advantageously, otherwise the extremely fast enemies catch up to you easily before you can even fire a shot. Jumping feels quite inaccurate, and the wall clinging is even slower than anything else in the game.
But the worst part, the part that RUINS the good qualities of the gameplay, is not being able to shoot while jumping. Jumping and shooting at the same time is the heart and soul of any platforming shooter, and taking it out is like making a platformer where you can't jump. It means every time I jump I'm completely fucking useless, and the nature of the gameplay means I'm jumping all the fucking time. Consequently, this game feels slow, is awkward to control, and doesn't actually let me attack about 50% of the time.
A decent effort with some very misguided controls. I give you a 6 and voted the game 3/5 because you can fix these things, and easily, and if you did your game would be quite good. But as it stands I won't ever play it past the first wave.
