I really like this game. the art is great, the gameplay is great, and all-and-all a great game
I am working on my game at this moment and listening to you music - it awakes my creativity)
Well, it bears clear resemblances to William and Sly, but that's not such a bad thing, given WaS is amazing. In many ways, this is more or less WaS's underwater brother, but it's still radically different in some key elements.
Just like in William and Sly, the graphics and music are beautifully made, atmospheric and top notch. They are pleasant, and it's so cool to see such a dense atmosphere in an underwater setting. The only problem is that when the camera moves too fast, it gets to be a bit of a nuisance and cause a bit of eye strain.
The gameplay resembles William and Sly in a couple of things, like the exploration element and the fetch quests, but it's also radically different from it in many ways. First of all, the mouse controls were a good choice, since the keyboard controls from WaS just don't work so well for an underwater setting. Second, the fetch quests seem a lot simpler and there's a whole heap of achievements, which by themselves give this game a pretty different overall feel. I also like how there are Race, Acro and Quiz minigames, all of which are fun enough, simple enough and add a bit to the gameplay. That not to mention the Ecco-inspired (I think) leaping out of the water mechanics, which were pretty fun, and the hoops, which are awesome.
Also, I love how in this game there's a lot of interaction with the scenery, for instance, turning the dials to obtain yellow gemstones is pretty cool, and popping balloonfish to get blue gemstones is very fun and satisfying.
Overall, it was a pretty enjoyable and rich adventure game for what it was. Definitely a game I'll come back to, like I tend to come back to WaS.
