Inspired by a number of different strategy games, ADoE combines elements of turn-based strategy with fast-paced tactical combat.

While there are similar Flash games out there, I think ADoE manages to innovate with a bit more strategic depth. This of course comes at the cost of somewhat greater complexity, but it shouldn't be too difficult to pick up. It stands out graphically too in my opinion, using plenty of pre-rendered 3D instead of vector graphics. It does require a decent computer to run well though, especially in late game when armies get pretty big.

Game was ok but unfortunately there are some bugs that are quite bothersome.

1- later in the game CPU appears to call in more troops then their "Time" allows

2- Long spear men loosing to scout horsemen? even if it is the first strike... that's pretty weak, Almost better off countering with archers or another horsemen if not for the 50% attack bonus.

3- ran into a game-ending glitch after the 3rd attacker came, I ran him between 3 area's for about 10 minutes to build cash over a few turns, and when I finally went to confront him the battle screen loaded, but my units weren't there, and neither were his. retreating did nothing, and I couldn't continue the game.

hmmm that's all I can think of in the way of bugs.

however there were some other problems.

rail system = win + fail

Pros: units ai is simple, not very laggy, hit-markers are easier to deal with, and spawning is really easy

Cons: Enemy ai will spam units, units casually pass enemy units as if they aren't there (unrealistically), if you start to loose even a little your chances for bouncing back are very slime more so with the aggressive perk you gave some of the AI.

The game's not worthless, it was fun for a while till I hit glitch #3, I'd probably play it again, please take my criticisms into account and don't worry about the glitches to much.

I'm sure they were much worse during testing >.<

not a bad game, really, but i think there is a glitch. i never actually got far, because they will summon a calvaly, and one of mine will kill it with both calvalries full hp. then they will summon the SAME kind of calvalry, and it will plow through THREE of mine. its totally unfair. i cant win a single fight without multiple tries. please fix this!

Not bad but..

We get invaded.. and we got no way of defending ourselves. We dont even get a warning or a notification!

The battle system is boring. Rail system is grind-incarnate. Long, boring, boring. CPU always end up being stronger than us in everything (and huge number) Would have prefered a grid/board army system rather athan the rail one.
So balance feels off.
Cost of upgrade is huge.
I dont see the point in having archers at all. Cavalry counters it very easily.
Against lancers i use heavy infantry, Vs Cavalry i use lancers, VS infantry i use my own or cavalry.

Do the CPU only attack us? Seems like it. Not fun if its the case.

Didnt enjoy it much. Got boring fast. Well made however.

fun for a bit.

I have had a few occasions where I would enter a battle and nothing would load, I use the most current version of flash, Firefox and all that...

the game gets way to repetitive after a while, limited research makes the game old fast. not being able to defend when attacked is an odd choice.

it looks good and does not lag like others of it's type, the concept is cool.

Its okay

Its okay, In fact i enjoyed it, But it got a bit repetitive and I couldnt set a defense i could only send out attacker to attack the others and then go off screen to attack more. Maybe if you set up a barrier where you defended some and you attacked another round it would be better, let us see what were attacking, Towers, walls, barricades, etc. But its fairly decent I'd play this if I was bored.
