Smogout

Author Comments

The game where you use strategy and anticipation to rid the air of smog. Predict where the particulate matter will cluster and use your Clean Air Bubbles to vaporize them. Be cautious of where you place your Clean Air Bubbles as they will divert the particulate matter.

Removing fine particles will increase your Percentage Cleared meter. Beat the level by having the meter reach the red line before you run out of Clear Air Bubbles.

weak!!

throw this away!!

Not great.

But not bad. It was a little boring and slow, however if you added features that you could effect (like gravity, wind, or the size of the bubble) that would add some much needed zest to the gameplay. Also could have used some fun music. Traffic isn't exactly....appealing.

thebasement responds:

thanks for the critique. i would love to add some gravity and extra features... especially if we had a larger budget for more levels so we could introduce them slowly and keep the game fairly easy to learn.

we went with traffic for the atmospheric affect. as you complete a level and get closer to the source of the smog, the volume of the traffic gets louder. it was a subtle touch, but we preferred it over going with a typical audio loop that doesn't add to the theme of the game.

it's ok

you should make a 2 and put items and stuff like that

thebasement responds:

I think sequels require higher ratings than a 5. ;) Good to hear the game left you wanting more though. I do think we could expand on this concept for a different game... not necessarily a sequel though unless the hits and ratings drastically change.

Paid for by Green and Global Warming activists?

Still sort of fun to play, even if the game is total propaganda. After playing you feel brainwashed to go out and buy a Neon Hybrid and accidentally drive it off a cliff when the floor mat get stuck. Also the concept is very simple and easy. I don't see why it took you so long to make.

thebasement responds:

I am glad the educational aspect did not take away from the gameplay. That was a balance we tried to maintain.

I'm curious, where do you see how long it takes to make?

one tiny plm

lack of quality button, overall the game is good

thebasement responds:

thanks for taking the time to review. did you find performance issues where a lower quality would be necessary?
