I had an idea for a brain-training game where you estimated the area of 2D shapes. Just using a single shape on screen was too easy (you could memorize the cut point), so I built a little prototype where a handful of shapes were on screen at one time.

It wasn't very fun, but it was an interesting activity.

Mochi ran a contest for November for a 60-second game, so I dusted off the prototype, slapped on a basic UI and some sounds, and called it a game.

I like this game

As you can see I have represented America and took the lead on the high score with 409,754. Try to beat that!

Amusing

I understand that you did this for a contest, but you get a much higher score randomly cutting, so you need to make a limit on levels and remove the timer to make this a brain game so that you get more points by actually estimating.

SimianLogic responds:

Your score won't go as high as you think by randomly cutting. By Level 5 (assuming you can make it that high randomly), the threshold for points is at 60%, and anything greater than a 60/40 split is going to take away points. If you want to actually get a really high score, you have to get up to Level 5 as quickly as possible and then make good cuts in L5.

Alright!

147,000 on second attempt :D

GOOD I THINK

Its kinda fun to cut with a time limit but I dont get the main point of cutting ramdom images
