So, this is the second animation piece I have ever done and the first animation piece I am uploading. I have other animation pieces but they will be uploaded later.

Anyway this is a piece I submitted for a project and I felt that NG would get a decent laugh out of it. Everytime I watch it I cringe but SOMEONE out there will like it right...right?

Interesting Style

Now that I know that this was for a school project, it makes sense.

Maybe you should use this style more in the future...

I thoroughly enjoyed the paper.

But the idea confused me way too much. But i think if you drew it out in flash it would be awesome.

Deathwyrm responds:

Heh well, the project this was for was to create a recipe for christmas, so the project is what I did at Christmas (which is what all the drawings are, the random stuff I did over the christmas holidays) and its put into a pie and baked and explodes (yes I know my explosions need work). But its meant to be a recipe of my christmas holiday...Only its not got alot of christmassy things (santa, trees etc) so I felt that it would be passable as a first piece thats not out of season.

pretty good

really good for being your second thing ever

Haha, nice

This reminds me a lot of Terry Gilliam's Monty Python animations, which I like. The music kind of annoys me, but I'm not really into the dance genre, so I guess it's OK (though I think there are good alternatives for this video). I'd like it even more if the animation was smoother, but you're right, it was a decent laugh. Good effort!

Deathwyrm responds:

The frame rate is 24 fps, though I've started working at 12 and 16 in my more recent animations. The music is digital, with the vocals removed by me, digital girl being the tune used for the 'series of tubes' video's found floating around on youtube.

Errr...interesting?

Well, obviously I can't write that this was amazing graphically or story-wise, but it wasn't bad either. I liked how there seemed to be some kind of concept, as irrational as it may be, that kinda linked everything together. It made sense to me :D, even if it wasn't supposed to make sense. Umm, constructive criicism...Well, try to avoid just scanning sketches into your animations obviously, maybe even draw right on the pc with a tablet (although those can cost you}. Oh, and don't just throw random objects into your animations, I know recycling sketches like this is easy, and overall I liked it ^^, but it's incoherent and kinda makes you look lazy. Don't have much to say on that really as I don't create myself.
Anyways, fun to watch.

Deathwyrm responds:

I have a tablet, and my more recent animations are much better than this, some of them are scan ins (because they be cel frame animations) while others are more computer based in drawing and colouring. I shall bear the rest of your advice in mind.
