52 Pickup

But, Oh! what a history for this simple noble game! "Why didn't someone think of it before? 52 Pickup as a computer game!" But that was me in 1990 - yes folks - 1990, almost 20 years ago I wrote the first version of 52 Pickup for DOS. It was part of "Cavalcade O' Card Games" on sale at a Target or Wal-mart department store near you. Then I got a real job. Through the years I've redone this for my own amusement on various platforms (even a DirectX version). Now Flash. Actually, the .net version is still available, with better score boards (google it "52 pickup game").

I'm not really too much into gaming since I'd rather be coding so maybe there are other versions out there. I know once I saw something titled "52 Card Pickup". In 1994 I was outraged to see the box version of the game used the same title. It didn't need the "Card" added to the title. Argh! Anyhow, I digress.

So it is a game with some history - just not to well known history.
Enjoy.

Nice

Very nice game!
This sure is a good time waster, but i would be nice if you added some music.

4/5 7/10

RaptorRex responds:

Hi.

Do you mean, add *more* music? Perhaps I have the volume too low. Or maybe you mean to play the title music throughout the game?

Good

this game is good and with good instructions but... the whole game is based on chance. on this game i played 5 times and got stuck and not yet finished the pick up.

52 pick up is like solitaire and freecell but those two r very popular but just maybe this will be the next big hit also.

keep up the great work! :)

RaptorRex responds:

thank you. Very valuable feedback. You just told me that my instructions in game are not sufficient.
The game is winnable. You need to click inside each trick box (the "tricks" are the two columns on the left). That will empty the clicked trick so you can continue. In this way, you can reveal cards needed by the opposing trick.

Every game is winnable this way.
