First submission.

Action-Plattformer with focus on action.
Move with Arrows.
Hit with Space.
Shoot with Ctrl.

This was a project at our school which in total we worked on for about 7 days in total. None of us have never even touched flash or actionscript 3.0 in our lives before so you'll see heaps and heaps of bugs.
This is like I said (because of our deadline) an incomplete game and I know that the two last levels doesn't have enemies or that the sniper lacks animation and code and so on.
Sry for the lack of a preloader.

So take it for what it is. We had fun making it anyway.
My role was to take care of the graphics and project leader.

2 things

1. This game has great potential, with color, music (better =]), more levels, and improved sprites you could have a great game on your hands. One glitch i found was if you jump while running you will stay in the falling stat while running. Other than that i completely missed an edge and i somehow floated next to it.

2. The no pre-loading thing made me think this is like one of those crappy fake games.

Other than that it was ok but it needs improvements.

I think the game has potential, but it does run slowly. Work on it some more and complete the game and resubmit.

incomplete review

I don't understand what benefit your teacher may have thought you were getting with such a stiff deadline. The art was good, the music appropriate but loud. Other reviewers touched on the other points.

So much room for improvement, but nice try

It was an ok try, but there are so many things that need to be improved before you could actually make this a good playable game.

First off, a few of the enemies dissapeared before I had a chance to shoot them, but that is an error that can be fixed. Secondly, controls dont respond to the game very well, and is quite slow reacting. The enemies have no AI, they just walk up and down like your not there, but that can be fixed with practice. Finally, there is no story to it but since its your first submission you have made a considerably good start. 3/10.

Well, the music doesn't loop, the controls are slow to respond (except turning around, yet if you try moving while you jump, you will continue the jump animations as you walk?)
As it's a platformer, I can understand the lack of a story/background; but why is it made noir-esque then? As such, the character seems out of place as the "bad ass hero with a katana and a handgun" fighting robots with shields and laser swords in a Mega Man type environment.

Also, I didn't end up getting to the end, but after four or five maps, I intentionally threw myself off a cliff and went from 4 Lives to -3 and got a game over. I didn't see a role for the HP at that point, as the enemies were too slow to even attack (I even tried letting one).

BUT OH MY GOD YOU HAVE NO PRELOADER.
AND IT'S WHITE.

No, concern yourself more with what you want the game to "feel" like, first.
4/10 since it's a first submission, first attempt, and you have some animations down. Scripting needs work, but this could turn out to be a relatively fun game.
