the art was ok
pretty nice actually and so the game has potential, but the coding problems I think made this hard to play.

[edit Just posted version 1.2 because now that I have some experience I figured I would fix my old work for fun. Do not expect anyone to play it.
Also fixed the rats. They can still bite you if you jump on there faces but if you jump on their body's you should not get hurt. If you do jump on there faces the rat and you get hurt.
changed the controls to be more standard ]
This is a game of a girls recurring nightmares and her nightly fight to stay alive.
Please look at the in game help screen for the instructions or look below.
left and right arrow = walk
shift = run
up arrow = jump
space = attack
] = elevator up
[ = elevator down
jump on the rats to hurt them and when you get the sword hack away.
Please let me know what you think.
(Edit) I fixed the issue with the elevators I believe. If anyone else has an issue please let me know.
Also If you have any other issue can you please let me know but to clarify
The rats bite when you step on them and they don't die.
if you are hit, bitten or stabbed in this game you are stunned for a second.
if you are running and run full into a monster you will get your ass kicked. My suggestion keep pressing the attack key until you kill the thing.

Usually I would give you a one, or zero.
Due to the fact that the animation was horrible, and the drawing aren't that great either.
That said I know the pains of working with actionscript to make a coherent game, so I'm gonna give you a break.
In the future work on some of your drawings, and animation, as well as make the intro more interesting.

great game but...
i think you should add more levels and more enemys, also i think you should make the boss a bit stronger. Also you should have more weapons and more places. I think its a great game but should be made into a bigger game because i really like the idea of your game. The elevators are a bit glitchy by the way.

Thanks. This was a learning experienced. I will probably make a "You cant check out 2" when I fix the issues and come up will an expanded story line. And I am working on the blasted elevators. Frigen Actionscript 3.

I kina broke you game by gettin into the lift, oops sorry more playtesting methinks and attacking isnt fluid but i do like the animationn and design, a little more work and this could be fun

This game is a mess.
Why is the "up" button the "attack" button and the space bar the "jump" button? It would make more sense if it were the other way around. Second of all, even though you have to jump on the rats to kill them, they still do damage to you anyway. Also, if I'm being attacked by one of the bigger enemies, sometimes I can't even move at all. And last but not least, why is it that when I enter the elevator, I fall through the floor and I can't get back out?

Thanks for the review and the bug report on the elevator. And I just wanted to comment on the controls. The reason that I set it up that way if you are using your right hand to control movement it is easier of you attack with your right hand and jump with the left hand sense you will jump allot less. I will however put in a control editor in further games that I make.
I set it up so a rat can bite you even if you step on it to make it a little harder. and last but not least if something is throttling you in the head you will have a hard time moving.
