This is a cool-looking version of the game.. for those who never get tired of playing the good old games !

needs finishing touches...
This game needs the finishing touches, music, and a bit of overall polish, something to make it stand out from the crowd of tetris clones. Your title 'Tetris 2009' promises more than you deliver. It makes one expect to see something original added to the genre whereas this is just another clone.
Those guidelines were irritating. Maybe useful during development but nix 'em.
There's nothing original here but as a relative newcomer to actionscript, I understand the difficulties involved in creating a tetris clone -- am in fact working on the same thing myself -- not so much to post, but as a learning exercise.
So these stars are for the programming and I'm scoring you a little higher than these guys maybe from empathay...

.......thank you, i guess... it's just that, i spent so much time trying to get this game working good... it was soooo freaking hard, that when i finished it, i had to post it... all these people rate low, but they dont know how hard it is to make a game like this...

Only one good thing.
the only good thing you did was able to get it out on the web so soon after new years, but other than that it was just like a normal tetris game exept it atttempted to look "modern".
Tetris with an obnoxious loop in the background.
It's not new. It has been done before. Tetris will always be fun, but so many people have done it better, especially along the lines of music.
