Cottonmouth Jigsaw Puzzle

I am making some puzzles for use on conservation websites. It is a volunteer basis, so they told me to brand them for some compensation. I am posting the first puzzle on new grounds, hoping for some input on the control of the puzzle, and general critique.

Nice puzzle that you have created here This was pretty good I did a few puzzle games myself once they are fun to do you should think about making more, Add more puzzles and more difficulty levels anyways nice work here hope to see more soon especially puzzle like games like you have done here

~X~

Jigsaw brought to the world of flash. Just a basic puzzle, so no creativity. Gameplay was ended once you solve it. There should be more content to make it longer.

This was made on 11/16/08, and I am only the tenth person to review it.

Nice

though only half the puzzle breaks sometimes...also, the auto fit once in place put many pieces in when i didnt even do it on purpose...

It was nice

K, more space for unused pieces. The snap lock was fine except for i didnt like it when two pieces would snap together at corners and sometimes quite by accident. Just make it so they snap together when the male and female parts come together. And you really should have some sort of accomplishment splash screen, maybe a time taken or some sort of acknowledgement of completion. Especially if its for kids, they would appreciate that. Otherwise, well done.

I've had it happy a few times too where pieces join at the corners, and twice even where pices on opposite sides of the puzzle where locked. I wasn't sure how isolated of an incident it would be. I do a hit test with the pieces to find out if they are touching, but apparently something is wrong in the logic.

Solid work

The drag sound doesnt fit, at least its too load. If you drag pieces in a fast row, the sound desynchronizes. There is too little room to store unneeded pieces. Nice picture, but is it appropriate for chirldren? I would say yes, but...

All the rest is good, nice work. I give only 3/5 and 7/10, because its to boring in comparison to the other stuff here.

psyon responds:

Drag sound? Are you referring to the sound when you click on a piece to drag it? Can you recommend something that may fit better? Your statement about no room for extra pieces was on of my concerns, and I wanted to see what others thought. The only reason I haven't changed the sizes yet, is that you can store completed parts way to the side, and drag them off the state a bit to make room.

The picture used in this puzzle may not be one that ends up in use at the end. We are going to have multiple puzzles of various reptile and amphibian purposes so the kids can learn what they look like.
