Version 1.30 (02-11-2008):

-Changed the movement algoritm. Now the player actually flies to the mouse pointer, instead of teleporting instantenously there. This disables the Pause-Teleport exploiting
-Now you can fly on the whole playfield, and touching Shield Ships kills
-Press "T" to toggle if mouse is displayed or not
-Rebalanced 39th wave
-Cut the file size for around 400Kb, by optimizing some of the graphics to JPG
-Now all crystals are yellow, and all enemy bullets are Blue, so there will be no more confusion of which is which
-The Black Text bug should be fixed now
-It shouldn't be possible to double post score now
-Fixed the bug of not appearing "Click Here to Continue" text on loader screen.

Galagian is a top-down fast paced shooter. You control a ship destroying hordes of enemies in this action-arcade game.

Galagian is a simple game, inspired by the Galaga series, and mostly Deluxe Galaga from Amiga. This game tries to catch the mood of old games combined with a quick action, modern graphics, effects and sound.

It features:
-13 types of enemies
-14 weapon levels
-43 levels constantly looping and getting noticeably harder with each pass
-Point multiplier system to award quicker and better players with more points
-Quite high difficulty on later level, so the game doesn't get boring through being easy
-Score Submitting to online hiscore database (without a problem can be fused with any hi-score table)

An excellent top down shooter, reminds me of their golden age. Everything is almost perfect and I also saw that you went through and patched the game after some exploits being made, as stated on description. There is very few to patch up, from my POV:

1- Weapon mechanic could be improved by powerup picking instead of auto upgrade;
2- Provide an advantage of some kind to non-auto firing.
3- Different weapon pickups, apart from main cannon upgrades, could be fun. Most of the genre has this as a lynchpin because it really bumps replayability to a higher ground.
4- Yes, those last levels are nasty, but even on easy setting? Did it fine but I fear for those who are less nimble than us.

How is level 37 even slightly possible, even on easy mode? 36 is bad enough with that spamming "Core" enemy but in 37 you have that enemy plus a ton of other tough enemies all spamming all at the same time. It's the spam and lag of death.

As for high scores, that's extremely easy to do in this game. All you gotta do is, on any level, kill all the enemies except leave one easy enemy behind, then just keep killing asteroids and sweeping up the diamonds. Just grind it out doing that. Anyone can get the high score doing exactly that (Simply do it longer than the person before you)

Great Game! But I think there should have a ''crystal counting bar'' on it. Btw, it's pretty well done!

It's a great game. Though in the later waves it gets so heavy that you can't tell which shots are yours and which ones are theirs!
